Diabetes
In type 1 diabetes the cells that produce insulin have been destroyed and the body is unable to produce any insulin.
Type 2 diabetes develops when the body cannot produce sufficient insulin to maintain a normal blood glucose level. It can also occur when the body cannot use the insulin that is being produced.
