| The Child Bereavement Trust The Child Bereavement Trust exists to ensure that information and support is provided to all who experience loss in circumstances where babies or children die or where children are bereaved, and more specifically through training the professionals who work with bereaved families at a time of crisis. Our vision is that all bereaved children and their families will have access to support and information from appropriately trained professionals, and that the Child Bereavement Trust will be seen by families and professionals as the organisation to contact for information and support in relation to child bereavement. Our aims: - To train and support professionals and all those working with families in loss and grief - To devise and produce for children and families who are grieving, and for the professionals who support them - To educate professionals, policymakers and others to understand the needs of grieving families and how these needs may be met - read more |

| Starlight Children's Foundation Starlight Children's Foundation brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting their wishes and providing hospital entertainment to help take their minds off the pain, fear and isolation of their illness. When Starlight began in 1987, we helped just 4 children; this year, we will help over 500,000 children all over the UK. Where possible, mums, dads, brothers and sisters are involved to strengthen family bonds at what is often a time of great stress and give everyone happy memories to share, no matter what the future may hold. Starlight receives neither Government nor Lottery support. If Starlight had just one wish itself, it would be that cures could be found for all the terrible illnesses that can afflict children. Until then, we will continue to provide important medicines of another sort: excitement, fun and laughter - read more |
